i'm trying to execute an "update" statement joining two tables
one in the local server say [SYB1] and the other is proxy table mapped to a
similar table in server [SYB2] ..but it always resuls in session
disconnecting form server.

the statement looks like
---
update local_table
set col=xyz
from local_table,proxy_table
where local_table.primary=proxy_table.primary

the CIS works fine with insert using select from the same join

thx in advance 4 ur help ..

Ahmad,

There is a newsgroup just for cis questions - sybase.public.omni. That is why
I did not see this message.

I believe this should work. If you haven't resolved it yourself somehow I would
suggest opening up a case with tech support, and having them pursue this. At
the root of the problem is that because the sql involves both local and proxy
tables CIS has to manage the Join. I'm sure it works fine if both are local.
