Hi,

I'm interested in what is the best platform for Sybase ASA 8?
I've tested ASA8 for windows and HP-UX on HP-RX2600
(2x Itanium2 900 MHz, 2GRAM, 64-bit) it's working very quickly but not
stability.
I'm looking for the best server on ASA8. What is your experience and
proposal?

thaks
Mike

Also, can you describe the type of application(s) that you expect
to support with ASA?

The "best platform" will depend entirely on what it is you expect
to do with the database. If you want a single-user handheld
application, it is a very different thing than having a large
number of users doing concurrent tranasactions.

Can you provide both the version and the BUILD number of the ASA
that you have tested (use the command "dbsrv8 -v").

Can you describe what you mean by "not stability"? What kind of
testing have you done so far?

More sophisticated select has failed server. "dbeng" has returned error:
Error I/O: out of date.
I've connected to db ODBC application and retrieved some reports also I've
retrieved reports by using dbisql.

Would you tell me when ASA would by certificate of Itanium? Any plans of
it?, any news?

thanks a lot
Mike
