Is jCONNECT 2.1 thread safe? We have multiple threads accessing jCONNECT
using the same connection context, and are getting exceptions and deadlock
behavior. Should multiple threads be able to use jCONNECT classes and can
they share a connection?

Thanks, Jon.

You SHOULD be able to use multiple threads on multiple statements
on one connection context at the same time - and as long as you
have not limitted the STREAM_CACHE_SIZE, we should be juggling the
timing conflicts for you...

We just fixed 1 bug that was causing deadlocks during "cancel()"
processing (available as of middle last week). If you don't have
the latest driver you could give it a try.

There is another timing/deadlock bug that we are working on now.
I hope to have it fixed and reviewed in a couple days, and available
for download by the end of the week. I'll do another posting and send
you mail when it is ready.

Our use of the latest jConnect driver seems to have fixed any problems we
are seeing. FYI - the driver we are using was shipped last saturday,
31-May.

Thanks Lance for all your offline help, and than you David. Your quick
response
and help through these problems makes it great to work with Sybase
products.

Thanks, Jon.
