I had no problem using jConnect to run against the Sybase sample database.
But when I try to run queries agaist our corporate databases on DEC VAX,
Sybase SQL Server v4.92, I can connect to the database, but no data is
returned when I run a query. Does TDS (Tabular Data Stream) not work with
the version of Sybase we have?
Thanks for any help.

I too have this exact same thing, and I beat your post by only
1 day. According to Lance Andersen of Sybase:

"Sorry, but jConnect only speaks TDS 5.0 and the 4.9.x servers
cannot handle that."

If you ever find a way please let me know. I doubt we will upgrade soon.

Here's a way: Using a recent version Sybase's Open Server and Open Client
products, build a simple passthrough gateway. JDBC can talk to the Open
Server gateway, and the last time I checked, Open Client could talk to
older versions of SQL Server.

It's a kludge, but sometimes a kludge that works is better than nothing.

Let me know if you need more information,
