Hi,
I had a working applet that was using jConnect until yesterday
when I installed new jConnect driver. Now I get the following error every
time I try to access my applet (or Isql sample for that matter):

# Applet exception: security violation: com/sybase/utils/Debug
java.lang.SecurityException: com/sybase/utils/Debug
at
netscape.applet.AppletClassLoader.loadClass1(AppletClassLoader.java:261)
at
netscape.applet.AppletClassLoader.loadClass(AppletClassLoader.java:231)
at SMMbox.init(SMMbox.java)
at netscape.applet.EmbeddedAppletFrame.run(EmbeddedAppletFrame.java:323)
at java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:296)

What is causing it?
I am using Jdk 1.1.3 and followed the instructions on
http://www.sybase.com/products/internet/jconnect/docs/prjdbc_4.htm#HEADING4-
20
Please help!
Thanks,
Vlad

The 7-14 driver had a subtle change in Debug.debug().

You shouldn't really need this method in production anyway.

The next version of the driver should have it back to the way
it was originally.

Can I assume that you are using a browser that supports applets
written in jdk 1.1?

Also if you can send me the applet, I can take a look
to make sure you are encountering the problem that I am referring
to.

Lance,
Thanks for your advice - I took out the line
Debug.debug(true, debugClasses, System.out);
and it works fine now. For some reason when I was accessing this applet
from my development PC (where I run httpd) it was working fine,
but when I was accessing it from another PC, I was getting this
security violation.
Vlad
