Tenemos un problema al ejecutar sentencias SQL (principalmente UPDATE), sin
anidamientos, en tablas de más de 200000 registros. Aún cuando existe un
dispositivo para log diferente al de datos, y aún cuando éste tiene casi el
100% de espacio del de datos. Irremediablemente el Log va creciendo sin
poderlo truncarlo. La opción de truncarlo automáticamente está activada.

Ok-

Here goes. My high school spanish and a spanish dictionary to the
rescue. Sorry for anwering in english, but.....

The problem is that if you are executing a large update, that i larger
than the available log space, the server cannot truncate the log before
the last open transaction, which is your own transaction. You'll need
to either increase the size of the log to accomodate the large update
call, or break the update apart into smaller batches. Also note the log
only truncates during system checkpoints, not explicit checkpoints.
