I installed Sybase system 11 on NT4.0 and installed SQL Monitor. I was
successful at running SQL Monitor a few times and then I was unable to run
it. The errorlog for monitor server had the following

Jun 12 15:43:26 1997: Event buffer wrap: 819 event(s) lost.
Jun 12 15:44:47 1997: 1000 Event buffer wrap messages - no more will be
logged.
Jun 12 17:33:47 1997: SQL Server seems to be down. Shutting down the
monitor server.
Jun 13 09:33:52 1997: Monitor Server/11.0.2/P/nt386/NT3.51/3/11.0_OPT/Tue
Sep 17 13:07:21 EDT 1996

Does anyone know what this means? How can I prevent this from happening?
How do I reverse the current problem and start SQL Monitor?

Thank you
Shannon

You might try upping the number of event buffers in SQL Server. I
ususally try something like 2000 - 3000. Look at sp_configure "event"
