You might want to browse the newsgroups sybase.public.sqlanywhere.mobilink
and sybase.public.sqlanywhere.replication.

Is there specific information that you are looking for?

Yes Robert

I need to know about conflit detection & handling during synchronisation.
Also need detailed information on how to set up the synchronisation between
the databases.
currently i'm going through the help manual, but getting the information in
bits and pieces.
Also need some information on storing the ecnryption data into the
database. And accessing the data programmatically throught .NET
application.
Any good articles or sources gives good conceptual and practical
implemenation of Synchronisation would be helpful.
Becuase i need to work it out at faster rate dur immediate requirement.

thanks in advance
Shankar

Yikes. That's alot of information you are trying to get from the
newsgroup in a single post...

First, all of the information you have requested is indeed
documented. If you are having troubles with the documentation,
please let us know what areas in particular and we'll pass the
feedback to the documentation team.

Realize that these newsgroups are a voluntary system.
Sybase/iAnywhere employees do participate in them (along with the
fantastic TeamSybase members, who are expert
customers/users/developers of ASA). This forum is not really set
up to answer broad sweeping questions.

For synchronization, I'd begin with the 8.0.x online docs:

MobiLink Synchronization User's Guide
1. Introducing MobiLink Synchronization
- The MobiLink synchronization process

as well as doing a couple of the introductory tutorials in Ch.
14, 15 and/or 16 of the ML Synch User's Guide.

For database encryption, take a look at:
Adaptive Server Anywhere Database Administration Guide
13. Keeping Your Data Secure
- Encrypting a database

No one has pushed me to be exposed to .NET yet. From my
understanding, you are basically going to be using OLE DB.

We have posted a technical document on our website specifically
for .NET:
http://www.ianywhere.com/developer/technotes/sas_adonet.html

and you can see overall OLE DB programming info in our docs:

Adaptive Server Anywhere Programming Guide
9. The OLE DB and ADO Programming Interfaces
- Introduction to OLE DB

If you have specific questions about the topics above, please
don't hesistate to post away. However, each post should try to
stick to one topic. Otherwise threads become long and hard to
follow.

Hope this helps,
greg.fenton
