I have an ASA8 database that is encrypted (simple encryption) running as a
service (w2k). I can connect to this from both asa8 and asa7 clients that
are running in the same tcp/ip subnet. However I am unable to connect to
it from a different subnet. I can connect successfully to other,
unencrypted databases on the same server from the second subnet.

Please note that I am talking about database encryption here, not network
packet encryption.

Summary: encrypted database, clients on same subnet ok, other subnets not;
unencrypted database, client everywhere ok.

Keywords: ASA, encrypt, client, subnet, tcp/ip, connect

This question would be best asked in the sybase.public.sqlanywhere.general
forum which is focused on ASA. The encryption shouldn't affect the
connectivity from another subnet. If you could post the server command line
and client connection parameters to the general forum then we can take a
look at it there.
