Hi all,
We are currently running databases under ASE11.5. We are thinking
of upgrading to ASE12. Can people please give their feedback/experience with
the upgrade and what they think of ASE12 compared to ASE11.5.
Advantages/Disadvantages Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks in advance
Edwar

Hi Fernao,

You need to install OpenClient or ODBC on your machine. These should be with
the cdroms included with ASE.

hope this helps

Don't do it.

Bite the bullet and goto Oracle.

Oracle 8i is what runs the Internet.

ASE 12 is a joke - they don't even support object data types
or multimedia or spatial or text or image natively. What a joke!

If it's like most internet companies it will be more like:
"BITE THE BIG ONE"

I love these jokers who buy into to larry's marketing hype. Reminds me of
the Hilter Youth.

A big disadvantage of ASE 11.5 is that Sybase will no longer be supporting
it as of Dec 31st on most platforms.
