How are you trying to do this? Are you trying to do this in the window
painter? If so, that won't work. You need to open up the user object
descendant tab control and add them there.

That is my question ! Why ?

With the standard class 'tab control', I can put it on my window, add
tabpages, which are userobjects, and in these uo, add some controls and edit
their scripts.

Why can'I do this with a descendant of the standard class ?

Now, if I need an enhanced base class of tab, with some basic capabilities,
I need to 'populate' it outside of my window painter and then, put it in my
window. If I need to change a script of an object in a tabpage, I have to
leave the window painter, open my object, modify it, close it, and, only
re-open my window painter (I hope I have not forgot something in my script).

It's a heavy job, isn't it ?

Because that's the way PowerSoft and then Sybase designed it and implemented
it. It's always been that way. You might add this as a request in the
.futures.discussion.

(FYI) It would actually be better to request it through ISUG,
Case-Express, or your support contract. These newsgroups are *not* an
official means of contacting Sybase.

You can not add tabpages to the tab control that is descesdant from tab user
object. You need to go to the tab user object and add the tabpages from
there.

Cheers

Ricci
