Hello,

How do I transfer data from a HP UNIX Sybase database to a NT Server Sybase
database?

It seems that no matter what bcp row terminator(s) that I choose I always
end up with an ascii 13 (CR) at the end of my data once I load it into the
NT server Sybase database.

I have had the HP UNIX dba run multiple version of the following sql script
to create the bcp statement to export the data using differenct row
terminators (-r). This is the last version we tried:

use it_wip
go

select 'd:\sybase\bin\bcp ' + 'it_wip..' + name + ' out I:\BCP\itwip\' +
name + '.dat -c -r \r\n -Sservername -Usa -Psecretpw'
from sysobjects
where type = 'U'
order by 1
go

This is an example of a bcp statement that I use to import the data into
the Sybase database on the NT Server:

d:\sybase\bin\bcp H1279DPI..AGENCY in I:\BCP\H1279DPI\AGENCY.dat
-STEST_SYBASE -Usa -Psecretpw -b 10000 > AGENCY.out

Any resolution suggestions or resources related to this problem would be
appreciated.

Thanks

Rick,

Are you FTPing the file from the Unix box to the NT server? Have you tried
using BIN when transferring the file. I believe the default is ASCII and
it puts a LF/CR on the end of each line when FTPing a file. Just a thought.
