Hi All,

I have an issue relating to sybase open client.

Recently we had an application which run using sybase Openclient 12.5
(Jconnect5_2) on Solaris 5.8 migrated to Sybase openclient 12.5.1 on
AIX 5.3.

When the user connections comming from the AIX server with OC 12.5.1
we are seeing lots off interblocking on the Sybase ASE 12.5.1 database
server and the same application is running fine when we use the old
box which use the OC 12.5 on Solaris 5.8(without any blocking).

Is there any configuration change,I need to do for the AIX server OC
12.5.1

Therefore kindly let me know any possible soluation.

Regards,

Praful

I don't fully understand your setup or problem. I think you are
saying that there is blocking on the server from the AIX clients but
there was/is no blocking of the older clients.

What is the server (platform and version) and did this change at all
or only the clients are changed?

You mention jConnect which is pure java jdbc driver so you should be
able to run the same version on both AIX And Solaris. One would
probably be using IBM jvm on AIX but I am not certain this is the
case.

The jConnect from 12.5.1 is jConnect 5.5 or jConnect 6.X. not jConnect
5.2. If using a newer jConnect please install the "metadata" that
comes with that release.

If the blocking is on ASE then getting sp_lock output and
understanding the sql of the blocker/blocked processes is needed.

If only the clients differ then you might try running both sets of
clients thru Ribo to see what the differences in sql are.
