One thing I would really like is the ability to really move a table/index
around in my database ( eg from one segment to another, or to reorganise it
completely ).
Currently you have to drop/recreate clustered indexes, so a one-command
thingy would be handy.

something linke

move table blabla to 'thissegment'
or
recreate clustered index blabla on 'thissegment'

currently , when an operation like creating your just dropped index failed
after a couple of hours , you find yourself without an index.
with these commands implementation could try to first create a new index
and only on completion drop the old one. This would eat up extra space but
in my mind that would be acceptible for the extra peace of mind. I could
live with the fact that it would only work on DOL tables, if that would
make things easier to implement :-)

If this could be done whilst the table is accessible this would be even
better :-)

Ooh, online reorg utilizing the modifications made in the transaction log
and applying to copy table and switching over. Hmm, other database vendors
offer this. Will Sybase someday?
