Hello,

Can Sybase investigate changing syslogs so that is a view of multiple
different syslogs[0-9] tables?

Would want to have
syslogs1 on dev010
syslogs2 on dev011
syslogs3 on dev012
syslogs4 on dev013

and a view a called syslogs that would be used by repagents and other
processes that need to read the syslogs table.

Writes could be made by the shared log manager for a database either round
robin or by a mod of the connections spid. I am making this request not
because I am having issues with I/O for a logsegment, but because disk
drives are getting bigger and bigger and the need to place other data on a
disk drive increases. This is what could or is in some cases, causing
issues for some customers.

Thanks,
Ryan Putnam

Let's keep ASE simple. Thank you. I don't see why this option is important.
The only thing this feature does is add 2 more pages to the already 10,000
pages of documentation you have for ASE. If you want your log to sit on
different disks then use disk stripping a la RAID.

Compared to just using SSA disk drives and adapters, Raid sucks.

Hello,

How about having the ability to pin an object to a logsegment and this
object cannot be replicated so that only one repagent is needed.

Thanks,
Ryan Putnam
