Hi,

First I create table t5 on ASE and stored procedure p5 which will
insert data into t5. Then I added two columns (allow null value)to
table t5, and run sp_recompile on t5. When I tried to run p5 it got
error message "Insert error: column name or number of supplied values
does not match table definition"
Above is the normal scenario we should see on ASE, however, on one of
my UAT environement, after sp_recompile, p5 can be executed
successfully. Can anyone of you advice why?

I suggest you post the structure of t5 (sp_help t5) and text of p5 (sp_helptext p5) from both an ASE that generates and
error and an ASE that does not generate the error.

Also check for any difference in active traceflags between
the two servers (although offhand I can't think of one
that would result in this difference).

dbcc traceon(3604)
go
dbcc traceflags
go
