I use the jConnect trial edition (it's 2-28-97 version) with JDK1.1.1.

JDK1.1.1 processese Traditional Chinese Data(code is Big5) well.(I ever

printed it ,so I knew it's not jdk's problem.)

I write a application to insert chinese data to Sybase System 10.Then

I used isql(under Solaris) to "select * from Table". Every Chinese is

wrong.But if I insert by telnet, using isql(unix command),then it's OK.

1.Can jConnect process Traditional Chinese?(and other 2byte language)

2. if it can, then how?

3. if it can't , does Sybase have plan?

Thank you. And if it's convient for you
please send reply by mailing to me..

Sorry, jConnect does not handle multi-byte character sets yet.
It is on the list of features for the next release, but that release
date has not been fixed yet. Hope to have some sort of Beta
available w/I18N support in a month or two.
