Hi jconnect people,

We are evaluating Jconnect for our intranet site. And we are stuck at
this basic problem. When we launch sample applet, we get the following
error :
"jdbc.sql.SQLException: An IO exception was caught from a lower
layer and re-thrown.: java.io.IOException: Connection failed to ':-1'
Restart connection."
What set up do I need to do in my computer? or Any kind of help is
appreciated.

Thanx
woe@sybase.com

How are you accessng the applet?

It appears that you are running the isql applet
from a applet viewer or some other
tool that accesses the .html file that launches it via a
file://sample/gateway.html
URL. The Applet.getCodeBase().getPort() method returns -1 (an
invalid port #) when you launch an applet this way. Access the applet
through your httpd server.
