We use Statement.cancel() to dump unwanted remaining rows in a result
set. This has been working great on Windows NT. However, wen we port the
code to Sun Solaris, this statement causes the database connection to
hang forever. We are using the latest jConnect and Sybase SQL Server
11.0.2. I suspect a problem with the database, not jConnect, but I
cannot be sure.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

We did discover a synchronization bug in jConnect related to cancel().
The latest jConnect driver (pushed to www.sybase.com yesterday 5/20)
contains a fix for that bug. Download that version and re-try.
Let us know if the hanging problem persists.

Steve,

Can you make the problem occur using the pubs2 database? If so, please
post the code on the newsgroup.

thanks
