I have a few more questions on jConnect:

1) We got some kind of an SQLException about metadata assessor
when doing Connection.setAutoCommit(false)? Is this method
implemented? If not, how do we do transactions that span
across multiple statements?

2) Is there a way to do multiple concurrent
transactions (each transaction containing multiple statements)
within a connection? Or, do we need to open a connection for
each transaction if we are to do multiple parallel threads?

3) While waiting for our official jConnect to be ordered and shipped,
we are working with the jconnect beta. Is there some kind of
documentation regarding what's implemented and what's not,
other than the JConnect Guide and Installation notes???

4) Does anyone have any benchmark regarding multiple connections
and multiple concurrent statements (connection establishment
time, response time, etc)?

5) I've seen here that what's being shipped as GA product is not
up to date? Should we even bother to install the shipped CD,
but should turn around and ask for the latest update from
Tech Support?

Thanks,

You need to run the script sql_server.sql or sql_anywhere.sql for
this to work. setAutoCommit is implemented

AutoCommit is based on a Connection not a statement. If the
transactions are meant to be unqiue to each other, then you will have
to process them one transaction at a time on a Connection or open
multiple Connections.

The jConnect online docs are the best place of interest... Each
EBF/ new web download is adding more of the missing DatabaseMetaData
methods. Approximately 50% have now been completed.

Once you have purchased the product, you can download the latest
EBF via ESD providing you have registered for ESD (free to customers
on maintenance). Info on ESD may be found in the support section
of www.sybase.com
