I'm attaching to a SQL Anywhere database running
on Windows NT and I was wondering, if the Open Server
Gateway could attach to a database on a different
machine. I need to be able to run the web server and
the OSG on a separate machine.

Thanks for the help

This answer comes to us from our friends in Waterloo who support
our SQL Anywhere product. Thanks goes to David Fishburn for
his time :-)

The OSG can easily connect from a different machine using DBLCIENT.

If we started the SQL Anywhere Server on 1 machine:
DBSRV50 -x tcpip -n dave c:\what\ever\tom.db

To connect to it from the machine you want the OSG to run:
DBCLIENT -x tcpip dave
DBOS50 -v SQLAny -e dave -d tom

This will start the OSG using the SQLAny server name from the
interfaces
file. It will use the engine called dave (which is connected to the
SQL
Anywhere server) and connect to the database called tom.
