Does jConnect have any methods to parse $SYBASE/interfaces file?

To elaborate on Dave Wolf's explanation, jConnect is designed to
be useable in a 0-install fashion. It requires special priviledges
in a browser to 1) get the environment variable $SYBASE or 2)
to open and read a local file.

Hopefully JNDI will come to the rescue for us here soon.

Gene-

No it doesnt. The reason is that the JDBC API was developed by SUN.
All Sybase has done is written a driver for that API. SUN uses a URL
that specifies the machine name. We dont really have any control over
the API, ust the actual driver that converts the API calls to our TDS
protocol.
