Hiya-

Does a PreparedStatement object create a temp stored proc on the
backside? Just curious. The JDBC API says that PreparedStatments are
'precompiled' and I assumed this meant a database precompile, which I
again assumed meant creating a temporary stored proc which took the
setValues() as input parameters. Did I assume well?

We could have done it the way you suggest - at least with SQL Server
as a back-end -- but for flexibility, PreparedStatements are just
remembered in the jConnect driver and re-executed as language
commands each time they are executed.

This is an area for performance work eventually - could make a feature
request for it.
