I just got my jConnect CD. How do I download the latest version of
jConnect without the time-bomb (this is of course for future reference
as well...)

Hi,

If you have registered for ESD, then you can download the latest ebf
from the web. Otherwise, you will need to contact TS to have the
product shipped to you.

Hi, I have two questions. One question is a follow-up to your reply
below.

1) How do I tell Tech Support to send to me the latest update of
jConnect and not the product itsefl? I called them last week and
they fedex me (quick service!) a jConnect CD v2.0. But this
is a product with a build date sometime in 3/97 that I already
have (date of file on the CD).

2) Our user can potentially enter single quote, double quote, etc
which conflict with the way to indicate string literals in JDBC.
Also, if a database VARCHAR contains a "/", and we pass in JDBC
the slash, we got double hits (work-around is to use SELECT
DISTINCT).

In any case, my question is, what are the characters (eg single
quote) that we should use escapes for when updating a user
input string into the database. Is there a reference somewhere?

Thanks,
