Hi

I understand there may be problems using jConnect with IBM's Visual age
for Java V1.0

Doen anyone know of any problems, and if so what they are ?

TIA
John

Yes, prior to jConnect release 2.2 (which has just been released
and is downloadable from www.sybase.com), jConnect used obfuscated
classes. Even though this is permitted by JavaSoft, some IDEs
could not handle obfuscated classes.

We made the decision with release 2.2 to no longer obfuscate certain
classes thus allowing our users to use the IDE of their choice. I do
suspect that Visual Age (and I believe that one of the MS source
code control tools) will support obfuscated classes in the future
(this was commited to by IBM for visual age).

-Lance

Thanks,

Forgive my ignorance, but what is an obfuscated class ?
