Some time ago I downloaded jConnect (probably v:2.1)while my company's
slow procurement team purchased our licensed copies.

I used it to develop a command-line based application (using the JDK
1.1.2) to great success. I didn't use any fancy features, just basic
JDBC stuff.

Last week I received our licensed CDs with what appears to be jConnect
v:2.0 (an older version???). After installing it, I am now getting
JZ0P7 errors when the query retrieves STRINGs and doubles (at least).

Any ideas on what is going on?

And from where I can download a current version of the product I bought
(not an evaluation copy)?

If you reply to this posting, please answer also by email at
bruno_melloni@freddiemac.com. I need to solve this problem as soon as
possible.

Thanks,

bruno

bruno,

If you have registered for Electronic Case Management (you may
if you have a support contract), then you can download the latest
ebf from the web whichis 7566.

If not, you can call tech support and request it.

Or you may download the evaluation copy of 2.2 until the ebf
arrives.

I would download the latest driver from the web instead of using
the 2.0 version that you received. Also, make sure that your
execute the sql_server.sql or sql_anywhere.sql script.

If you browse:

http://www.sybase.com/products/internet/jconnect/docs/jcref_6.htm#HEADING6-0

You will see what the various SQLExceptions mean.

Regards,

-lance

According to the manual, JZ0P7 is caused by reading columns in reverse
order with
NO_REPEAT_READ set to "yes". So all we need to do is set it to "no" but
the question
is WHERE do we set NO_REPEAT_READ??? Anyone? please? 'cuz I am having
the
exact same problem too.

Thanks
Alb
