I've just been using "\n" and it works, too.

Be aware that there is a bug with lines longer than 72 characters. You need
to break up your text string lines (insert \n) before you put it in the
body.

Yeah, it's interesting \n worked when on 3.0, but I needed to to \r\n once I
went to 3.5. Oh well.

Serious? I'm on 3.5 using the \n and it seems to be working just fine. How
did it change when you went to 3.5?

Michael,

I'm curious how this \n works. Fistly where does it go and secondly what syntax
should be used with it. I've tried putting where I want a line break and I just
get an error saying undefined variable when I look at it in a browser...

mp.body = ("Dear " + cust_name + "," \n "Thankyou for booking with us....")
returns errors.

You embed the special character directly in the string. Here is how your
statement should look:
mp.body = ("Dear " + cust_name + ",\nThankyou for booking with us....")
You don't need trailing blanks after the comma or before the "Thankyou".
Remember that you can also embed tabs with the \t character.

Thanks Michael,

I'm curious, where did you find out about this as I didn't find any references
to this is the PD documentation?

Well, I don't think I found it in the PD docs either, but when I heard that
DynaScript was a lot like JavaScript which was a lot like C, then I inferred
that I should be able to use the special characters \t, \n, \r, etc. I
tried it, it worked, I did my "happy dance".

Michael,

After you did your "happy dance" :) you didn't find out how to insert html tags
into a mailpeice object did you? I want to insert a hyperlink and put some text
in bold and it does not like it.

eg.

var link = ("<A href=website.htm>website.com</A>");
mp.body = ("Dear "<B> + name +</B> ", \n\nThankyou for booking with " + link )

Where the <B> tags are it just blows out and the + link comes up as undefined.

How should I resolve this. Any ideas?

That won't work until Sybase fixes the MailPiece. The 75 character limit
thing is only the tip of the iceberg. You don't have good control over the
FROM property or the BODY. You should be able to use MIME types to create
HTML pages or other fancy deals, but currently it doesn't do anything at
all, as you have found. Sorry.
