Hi,

This is probably a very general question but I need some information
about how to go live with EAStudio.
Our current web site has been built in PowerSite, and is deployed to
PowerDynamo and retrieves data through Jaguar. In a few weeks we will
hope to put the site we have built onto the web.

I have a standalone PC to act as a web server, Adaptive Server
Enterprise, PowerDynamo and Jaguar will this be enough to go with or do
I need something like IIS 4 as well?

I'm being thrown in at the deep end I'm afraid so any help is really
appriecated.

Richard

James,

You will need a webserver to talk to Dynamo. Otherwise, yes you have
everything you need.

I thought that EAS version 3.5 would allow Jaguar to act as a web server and
talk to PowerDynamo. Isn't that what the JAG/PD integration was all about?

Jaguar can accept http requests, but it is not a replacement for a web-server,
and I would certainly not use Jaguar to talk to Dynamo. Rather the other way
around. You use Dynamo to talk to Jaguar.

Ok guys, being realistic if I am going to be launching an e-commerce site wouldn't
I be better off using IIS rather than jaguar due to it's functionality?

Absolutely!!! In so far as functionality we are not a web server. As far
as performance however we should stand on our own. We arent a web server,
thats what we've all been saying. We do provide integration so you dont
HAVE to buy a real web server but were not a replacement for IIS in any way
shape or form.

Scott,

Out of interest which web server will work best with Dynamo for a live site?
