Hi,

I am currently using Oracle 8.1.5 client software for our application server. I have setup a connection cache in Jaguar as follows:

  • DLL or Class Name = "oci.dll"
  • selected the radio button: "OCI 8.x"
Unfortunately, this isn't working. I know that my Oracle connection is working because I can connect with PowerBuilder. I looked in the Jaguar server log, and I seem to be getting the following error:
  •  DLL lookup for 'af_dll_lookup()' failed, OS Message: 'xa80.dll'
I looked for this DLL and it seems to be installed in the Oracle 8.0.5 client software. Will Jaguar connection caches not work with the 8.1.5 client software? Will I have to revert to Oracle 8.0.5?

I ran into this here as well, as I recall, we had to install additional
options in the 8.1.5 software to get the XA support. Have you tried
reinstalling 8.1.5 to see if there are other options that you did not
select on the original install?
