Hello,

Ok here's today's problem <g>:

I have 3 drop down list box's. One for date(arr_day), another for
month(arr_month) and final for year(arr_year).
I have then declared 4 variables on the next page :
1. var arrivalday = psSession.GetValue("arr_day");
2. var arrivalmonth = psSession.GetValue("arr_month);
3. var arrivalyear = psSession.GetValue("arr_year");
4. var arrivalDate = arrivalday + "/" + arrivalmonth + "/" arrivalyear;

If I do a:

psDocument.WriteLn(arrivalDate);

it returns : 01/02/99 which is exactly what I want(It's now in the
correct format to act as a retrieval arg for my htmldw). So up to now
great stuff.

What I want to do is set this arrivalDate variable as a session
variable, and then call on it later as a retrieval argument for the
datawindow.

Now I feel as if I've tried everyway possible to do this but I still
have had no success.

Can anyone tell me how I can pass this variable through as a retrieval
arg?

Thanks
Davlon

ls_args = psSession.GetValue("mydate");
retVal = dwMine.RetrieveEx(ls_args);

Tim,

Now I'm confused :)
Again my thanks for your reply. I'm not too sure how this would fit into my
code as I'm one of the rare people who use PowerSite to insert HTMLdw as
Active X components. Most of the dw.code is dynamically generated behind the
scenes. To specify a ret arg I would either go into the datwindow builder and
define it graphically. Because the dates I have now put together as a string
the dw doesn't play ball.

if my variable is:

arrivaldate = arr_day + "/" + arr_month + "/" + arr_year;

which gives me the value of say:

01/02/99

do I know pass arrivaldate like so?

arrive = psSession.GetValue('" + arrivaldate + "');
retVal = dwMine.RetrieveEx(arrive);

as I said seeing as my dw's are generated automatically where would I put the
retVal line?

Hit the source tab. You'll see the code for the retrieve, etc there and can
modify it there.
