Hello, I am trying to get around having Sybase specific classes in my
EJBs that get a connection to the database. I am attempting this by
using my own class that is a wrapper of the javax.sql.Datasource (the
class is attached). I am also trying to keep from having the Sybase
specific classes in my EJBs that get a connection. I was wondering if
anyone else has attempted this and if so how?

Thanks in advance for all replies

Steve

This will be supported using the JDBC 2.0 DataSource in the Jaguar 3.6 release,
along with full EJB 1.1 / J2EE support.

Thanks Evan but as I told Dave Wolf, due to deadlines I don't think waiting for the
next
release is an option unless you are planning on the next release coming out in
the next week or two. Also does this mean that if I use the PowerJ wizards that the
code will be free of Sybase specific classes?

So I suggest that you create your own ConnectionCache class, which for now can
delegate to the JCMCache class, but later can be changed to use JDBC DataSource.
You then keep the non-portable code in one place where it is easy to change.
