http://wap.intesys.es
Promotional web site of Spanish development firm. Nothing special.
I mention here because this site is serving wml cards with the same
technology as html pages. Accessing with a wap enabled device you'll
get marketing and demo apps. Client apps are privated.
In the background Jaguar, Powerdynamo and ASA,with successful
experiences.

http://www.vacationoutlet.com is probably an ASP site .... I visited this site and did
"View source" of home page and I found 83 ASP keywords (links) in HTML. Probably they may
be doing something with EAS, internally ...

You can try http://www.asiabondportal.com It is in EAS and good featured ...

So Is it better practice to go for ASP -> EAS OR it is just a policy not to reveal which
technology that they use ?

That particular customer already had ASP and as a first step used ASP ->
EAS.

Thats the real strength here, integrate what you have already woithout
having to throw everything out and starting again.

This is the path we are proposing....

Our web servers are IIS and the web development team only knows ASP, but the
enterprise wants to move to J2EE. So we are proposing all new app logic be
done in Java beans in EAS and deployed to IIS as COM proxies. Then when the
switch is made to JSP, we just create new proxies for the components.

I noticed that neither of these sites displays the "Powered by EAServer"
logo. If Sybase marketing was doing their job they would be paying all the
commercial sites, either in dollars or in free software, to display the
logo.

We can do wahtever we want, but if the site chooses not to show the logo,
there's nothing we can do about it. I agree, we'd love to have them show
the logo, but there are a bunch of things at play

1) Competitive advantage. Many companies do not want their competitors to
know what they used, or how they develop sites

2) Legal issues. Many financial institutes cannot be a reference for a
security they trade in.

3) Security Issues. Ask any dot-com what technology they run on. They will
NOT tell you. Call Yahoo, C-NET, CNN, etc. I know they wont tell you. Ive
tried. This is a major security risk for them to discuss the technologies
they use.

We go live tommorrow using EAS to deliver a web app for students to
change their subject choices. Next plan is for personal detail changes
over the web and then move into other areas of our current client-server
application. We also want to covert our two-tier client server app to
three tier some time soon.

Our Bank has successfully set up an international intranet app using EA
Server.
