Hello Everyone,

I want to let you know that we have opened the Beta for EAServer for

http://www.sybase.com/products/easerver/linux_beta

EAServer 3.5 for Red Hat Linux Beta is based on the feature set of the
Small Business Edition. You will have to download the Blackdown JDK
1.1.8 and/or 1.2.2 yourself. We also require that you are using Red Hat
6.1 for Intel (kernel 2.2.12-20 or higher) for this Beta.

Features of the EAServer for Red Hat Linux Beta include:
- Support for Enterprise Java Beans? (EJB), Java Servlets, Java Naming
and Directory Interface? (JNDI), Java Transaction Service (JTS) and Java
Transaction API (JTA), and Java Database Connectivity? 2.0 technology
(JBDC)

- Support for cross-client and cross-component applications based on
CORBA, XML, HTML, DHTML, C and C++

Thanks for your interest and support. Constructive feedback from your
use of EAServer for Red Hat Linux will be much appreciated.

Thanks and Have Fun!

2.2.20? The current version is 2.2.14; 2.2.15 is expected out "real soon now".

-james.

Wait! I take it back -- that refers to a kernel RPM version number 2.2.12-20
doesn't it? There's gotta be a better way of showing that you mean a specific
binary package. How about the entire filename, so it ends with the .rpm?

That's a RedHat number scheme. They're talking about RedHat's package
kernel version 2.2.12 release 20. Totally seperate from the kernel
version.
