I'm trying to call an EJB from client using my wrapper class to get the connection.
When I try and run the client I get the following error message:
[Root exception is org.omg.CORBA.OBJECT_NOT_EXIST:  ]javax.naming.NamingException

            at com.sybase.ejb.NamingContext.lookup(NamingContext.java:365)
            at javax.naming.InitialContext.lookup(InitialContext.java:288)
            at CheckinClient1.main(CheckinClient1.java:21)

The EJB has been imported and compiled and the server has been restarted.
The files I'm using are attached.
Thanks for the help in advance.
Steve

Change this line from

           Test.WebExpressCheckinHome home = (Test.WebExpressCheckinHome) ctx.lookup("WebExpressCheckinHome");

To

           Test.WebExpressCheckinHome home = (Test.WebExpressCheckinHome) ctx.lookup("WebExpressCheckin");

You lookup the name of the bean itself, which then returns you the home interface.  So change the lookup() to lookup whatever the bean is named in EAS when installed.

Can I please see the props file for the component.  As well, did you generate a skeleton for the component and compile it?

Hmmm do me a favor please.

Via JagMan would you please rename the bean itself to WebCheckinBean?  Im curious if the issue is we dont expect to see a bean named the same thing as the home interface and its confusing us?  Please rename it, regenerate stubs and skeletons, restart and try again.

Thanks for all your help Dave, attached is the client code.
I tried to reeboot my computer yesterday and it locked up,
so until I get my computer reformated I cannot send you the
full stack trace but I can confirm that I was not getting anything
in the srv.log. I did have to remove the CheckinBean and reimport
it and gen stubs and skeletons and recompile them and restart Jaguar,
after which I did not get any error messages in the srv.log.
Thanks again
Steve

Whenever you can get me the whole stack trace post it here.

Steve

Change this line from            Test.WebExpressCheckinHome home = (Test.WebExpressCheckinHome) ctx.lookup("WebExpressCheckinHome");To            Test.WebExpressCheckinHome home = (Test.WebExpressCheckinHome) ctx.lookup("WebExpressCheckin");You lookup the name of the bean itself, which then returns you the home interface.  So change the lookup() to lookup whatever the bean is named in EAS when installed.

"Steve Fennessey" <fennessm@maritz.com> wrote in message news:38CD1380.E4A16293@maritz.com...I'm trying to call an EJB from client using my wrapper class to get the connection.
When I try and run the client I get the following error message:
[Root exception is org.omg.CORBA.OBJECT_NOT_EXIST:  ]javax.naming.NamingException

            at com.sybase.ejb.NamingContext.lookup(NamingContext.java:365)
            at javax.naming.InitialContext.lookup(InitialContext.java:288)
            at CheckinClient1.main(CheckinClient1.java:21)

The EJB has been imported and compiled and the server has been restarted.
The files I'm using are attached.
Thanks for the help in advance.
Steve
