Hi:

I finally decided to bite the bullet and upgrade from PB6 to EA Studio.
Installation of EAstudio 3.0 went just fine, and the install of 3.5
seemed to go OK also until I restarted. Then the system hung on
reboot. I finally powered off and restarted, going into "Last Known
Good Configuration" at the appropriate spot, after which thankfully it
came back up, and seems ok.

It looks like the registry changes 'took', since if I can see the 3.5
versions of the software in 'Add/Remove Programs' and can see them if I
do a search of the registry. This seems a bit strange to me, since I
had thought they would all be lost when I went into "Last Known...".
???

The environment variables, CLASSPATH in particular, don't seem to have
changed, though.

A few quick tests don't seem to show up any real problems (except
perhaps with some classes not being found).

I'd really like to avoid another lengthy install, with possibly even
more problems, so my questions are these. Can I somehow confirm that
the install is really OK? Can I find an example of what my environment
variables should look like?

Thanks for any help,

-- Harvey

You should have the following settings:

Classpath:

SYBASE\shared\sun\jdk118\lib\classes.zip
JAG35\html\classes

Path:

Jag35\dll;Jag35\client\dll;SYBASE\shared\sun\jdk118\bin

Make sure that all of the Jag30 and JDK117 entries are gone as well.

My classpath is basically the same except you need top add:

D:\Program Files\Sybase\Jaguar CTS 3.5\java\classes;D:\Program
Files\Sybase\Shared\PowerBuilder\classes.zip;.

The path is basically the same except I have PB and ASA in my path.
