Hi All,

We are thinking about using a product called Observer ( from Segue ) .
This is a monitoring product that intercepts IIOP messages within Jaguar.
Inorder for this product to work, the tech support people need to know if we
have access to Visibroker Interceptors ? Can someone tell me if we do ?

Regards,

Bruce

We are also looking at a tool from Segue, Silk Performer, which also intercepts
network traffic.

Apparently something Segue does is blocking the IIOPS connection. Has anyone
tried to use Silk Performer with Jaguar? Were you ever successful?

The client is MSIE v4. The servers are Win/NT v4 (IIS v4 and Jaguar v2)
1. Client connects to IIS (https://web:443/)
2. Downloads HTML and signed CAB file
3. HTML executes invisible applet which connects to Jaguar (iiops://jag:9001/)
4. Applet transfers data as needed between the HTML pages and Jaguar

All this works normally, but the IIOPS connection fails when the client is
executed by the Segue tool.

TIA,

-james.

I cannot see the relevance of VisiBroker Interceptors to a Jaguar server.
Jaguar interoperates with VisiBroker, but it does not contain any VisiBroker
software.

As far as monitoring is concerned, if you set the Jaguar server property:

com.sybase.jaguar.server.iiop.log=true

then all incoming / outgoing IIOP messages will be logged in the Jaguar server
log file.

Does that help? Or did I miss something?

I agree, we dont need any middle ware. I was just working with a customer
today using Iona without a hitch. Well no big hitches :)
