Hello,

Is it possible to control a pooled, stateful jag component from a PS
serverscript (javascript)?

I'm able to construct a component using:
getinfo = java.CreateComponent ("genam/testinfo", "iiop://server01:9000");

But then how do I 'deactivate' it?

I'd like to construct/activate the component, make several method calls on
it, then deactivate it so it goes back into the pool.

Can't find anything in help (except stuff on 'CreateComponent')

Thanks,
Bobby

That will happen automatically depending on how you set the characteristics
of the component.

Larry thanks for replying.

If I do NOT choose 'auto-demarcation' then how does the component get
deactivated? I could be wrong, but I don't think it does. It seems like I
need to deactivate the component myself (through code)... my question is
how?

Again, I'd like to construct/activate the component, make ~several~ method
calls on it, then deactivate it so it goes back into the pool. With 'auto
demarcation' turned on, my component activates and deactivates on each
method call... I'm concerned that there is the potential for another user to
come along and pick up the pooled component before the first user is done
with it. (Correct?) So I've turned OFF 'auto-demarcation'... but now it
appears that the component never deactivates...

Thanks again for any help.

Add a method to the server side object which then itself calls SetComplete()
or SetAbort. Then have the client call this method to deactivate the
instance. This is not different from any kind of client.
