Hi All,

I have a method with the following signature:

public int retreiveByCountryDate (int countryId, MJD.Date dateOf,
TabularResults.ResultSetHolder holiday)

When I try and deploy the component, I am getting the following error:

_sk_country_Holiday.java:387: Incompatible type for method. Can't convert
java.sql.Date to MJD.Date.

When I change the method signature to use a java.sql.Date, it will deploy.
I was told that I have to use MJD.Date and NOT java.sql.Date and I am now
confused ...

ALSO I have the same problem as I am using
org.omg.CORBA.StringHolder.StringHolder, I have StringHolders defined in my
method signatures, when I deploy I get the following message:

_sk_country_Holiday.java:317: Incompatible type for method. Can't convert
com.sybase.jaguar.util.StringHolder to org.omg.CORBA.StringHolder.
p1

When I change the method signature to use
com.sybase.jaguar.util.StringHolder it will not give me the error listed
above.

Thanx

Bruce Ostrover

I suspect you have the incorrect component type selected. What version
are you using?

If 3.0, you want a Java component using IDL data types.

If 3.5, you want a Java/CORBA component.

(These are the same, but are just named differently in the 3.5 GUI)

Evan,

Sorry, but I am not sure what you mean by JAVA component using IDL data
types

We are running Power J with the EBF 3.01
We are deploying JAVA components to Jaguar

We have another component that is using a org.omg.CORBA.StringHolder in
some methods and it deploys correctly. I have included the copy of the
sk_country_holiday.java file as well that I referenced in the original email
below

Thanx

Bruce

Perhaps you could include your component properties file.
