Can anybody tell me why all the fields of HTML Datawindow are not shown in
Netscape 4.51 , but
the fields are properly shown in IE 4.0 . I am stuck because of this
incompatibility. I am using
dwMine.SetBrowser(document.GetServerVariable("HTTP_USER_AGENT");
Please reply
Thanks

This is because the generated HTML use only one table to layout the entire
datawindow in Netscape. If you remove the widest field in the datawindow you
might see some of the fields shown in Netscape. The HTML being generated in IE
use absolute positioning that is why it looks nice.

Are you using a freeform datawindow? We have a constant problem converting
our existing freeform datawindows to the web as they do not format properly
in Netscape. We have reported this as a problem to Sybase but as of yet, no
response. Other datawindows (except freeform) although they look slightly
different, are acceptable, but freeform dw's are a disaster in Netscape.

Hopefully they will find a way to resolve this soon, because it really
limits this tool and I am having great difficulty trying to explain away the
fact that our users must use IE for our app to work properly.

I'm using tabular datawindows, and it is a disaster in Netscape too.
In IE, a list shows with thin rows, very nice. In Netscape, it shows thick
rows, large buttons, and the user can't see more than 3 or 4 rows without
scrolling.
It's a shame the time we waste struggling with this mess.

Diego.

Yes I am using FreeForm DataWindow??
I think Sybase has no answer for this and this is of the many questions
unanswered by Sybase.
