I am attempting to upgrade from Jaguar 3.0 to 3.5. I uninstalled 3.0, but
left the files in place. I then installed 3.5. I can start up the server,
and can connect to it from the Jaguar Manager. I then tried running
JaguarUpgrade as per the installation documentation to install previous
version's configuration repository. No luck. The program runs briefly and
spits back out the syntax for running it. Nothing appears to have occurred,
and no helpful error messages of any kind. I guess I can install everything
manually, but I was hoping that there was an easier way.

Has anyone else had luck running JaguarUpgrade? Any secrets I may be
missing?

I have upgraded several machines, and definitely remove EAS 3.0 and then
install. I deleted all the directories and everything.

I tried to use the upgrade.bat file as well and it didnt work.!!!
It is quite frustrating to have to install everything again just because we
upgrade from 3.0 to 3.5

Yea, the JaguarUpgrade.bat that was included with the upgrade, and in the
documentation, seems to be quite worthless. I reported this, and, in the
end, had to redeploy everything by hand, which ended up taking less time
than what I spent trying to get the upgrade to work. Somebody had the right
idea to include a way of upgrading - but Sybase seems to have had problems
implementing this properly. As I said, I did report this. The case was
closed with the workaround that I redeployed everything manually. With some
luck, perhaps they will get this straightened out in time for the next major
release. Here's hoping.

I have a solution for them. Stop renaming the damn directories! Make sure
your directories in the path and the rest of the environment variables are
correct.
