Problem with child dw's:
The user wants to see 1 record only -- a new record, for the main dw on a
page. Typically I would do this by not retrieving the dw, inserting a
record into it, & then retrieving the child dw's separately. The problem is
with the htmldw, you can't retrieve the child dw separately. So after I do
the insertrow, the row appears in the page, but there are no records in the
dddw's. So I was thinking I could achieve something similar by retrieving
the main dw with some rediculous Where criteria that doesn't return
anything. Then I could do the insertrow & the child dw's would be
populated. Is this a sound thing to do??
Thanks for any advice!

Seems a bit klugdey but will likely work. Make sure you specify the
arguments when you call the InsertRow.

I did it and it does work. I didn't need to specify arguments. I just hard
coded "Where employee.ID = 0" to the dwo select statement. Well, there
never will be an employee with ID of '0' since that field is
auto-incremented, so no rows are retrieved [great], and I can do an
insertrow & the drop-downs are populated.

Its definately klugdey though :)
