Hello,

What kind of performance would one expect from a Dynamo application
that makes remote calls to Jaguar? (server running Dynamo is connected
to the server running Jaguar through a wide area network) Currently
we run both applications on the same server and connect from Dynamo
to Jaguar through Java stubs (java.CreateComponent)
Any feedback will be appreciated.

Thanks,
Alex Bronstein

What is your bandwidth, how many hops, how many firewalls...

Performance will be good moving processing off the webs server to a cluster
of application servers. If you have a lot between the web server and the app
server you will want to reduce the number of calls.

IMO you should have your web server, app server and database server on a
fast network with little or no hops.

IMO the performance is going to be in how your components are designed and
what you are passing back and forth. If all you're doing is small result
sets or html you will be very pleased with the performance, IMO. If you
start passing around blobs or large result sets, then it will depend on your
network.
