Hi All,

I'm trying to user IIS with PowerDynamo... some how it doesn't works right..

My question is: Do I have to install IIS and PowerDynamo in the same NT
server machine? Can I install IIS on one NT server machine and PowerDynamo
on another NT server machine? This is what I currently have.

Thanks
Kevin

Hi Kevin,

I would suggest putting them on the same machine. Then follow the
instructions in the PD help for configuring an isapi filter.

Larry,

I am wondering why you made it a suggestion.
I was under the impression that PD MUST
be on the same machine as the web server.
I know it would be simpler if they are, but is it
even a possibility to do it another way?

If it was I might consider trying it - for political reasons 8^).

It was not really meant as a suggestion. I just hate for my answers to
sound like I'm dictating how things have to be. I don't think anyone knows
all possible configurations. I know the ones I've done and what has worked
for me and my clients. I guess it was just my demeanor for being late and
possibly having a few cocktails before hitting the newsgroups<g>.

That's cool. For a moment there, you gave me hope
that I just might be able to avoid the battle with the MS
contingent at our company about infecting their web-server
with non-MS software (i.e.; something that scales).

Good Day.
I'm having problems configuring IIS with Powerdynamo in the same machine. I
followed the steps provided in the help files (configuring ISAPI). But after
i configured the ISAPI filter and reboot the machine and verified the
configuration in IIS the ISAPI filter showed that it is not loaded, what
supposed to be the problem ? do i need to configure anything beside the one
mentioned in the help files ?

I tried browsing the pages but it was not able to call methods of components
deployed in our jaguar server, which works fine with powerdynamo alone.
We'll be glad for your immediate assistance/reply.

Thank's in advance.

Good, day.
We're having problem configuring IIS with PowerDynamo in the same machine
.We followed the steps for ISAPI configuration in powerdynamo help files.
When I tried to configure the ISAPI filter and restart the machine, it
showed in IIS that the ISAPI filter is not loaded, did i missed out any
configuration or do i need to modify other entries, besides the one which
where mentioned by the documentation ?

When I tried to browse said pages, no errors where displayed but it was not
able to call methods from components deployed in JAGUAR, which where working
fine browsing them using Powerdynamo alone. Is it because ISAPI filter where
not loaded properly ? Or any other configuration to be done ?

We'll be glad for your immediate reply.
Thank's in advance.

You must put PowerDynamo on the same machine as the web server.

If you want to move processing off the web server (which we suggest) you
must call a remote component (Jaguar).

Basically you have dynamic processing on the web server to call a component
running in a Jaguar Cluster. Little processing on the web server (hook),
business rules and interface on the application server, business rules and
data in the database server.
