I am trying to set up access to a PB nvo on Jaguar from a PowerDynamo
template. I have created created the stubs in Jaguar, but the javac compiler
gives the following error:

n_jaghello.java:11: Interface org.omg.CORBA.Object of interface
BLAST.n_jaghello
not found.
public interface n_jaghello extends org.omg.CORBA.Object
^
1 error

What have I missed?

Ray

Looks like your path is not setup correctly. I'm assuming you exported a
Java stub, changed directory to the directory of the exported component and
are trying to compile the stub.

Make sure your classpath has %jaguar%\html\classes in it's path.

Before compiling make sure you add your component directory to the path.
example assuming you exported your stub to c:\myjava.

c:\myjava\mypackage\set classpath=%classpath%,c:\myjava\mypackage
c:\myjava\mypackage\javac -verbose *.java

Thanks for your reply.

OK, I have now been able to complete the compile, but after copying the
.class files to the classpath, PD doesn't recognize the method on my object.

helloobject = java.CreateComponent("n_jaghello");
hellomsg = helloobject.hello();
document.WriteLn(hellomsg);
-->

Produces the error:
Warning: undefined variable helloobject.hello[hello] near line 68 in
"/launch details.stm"

That usually means the object is not in the classpath. Can you post you
classpath?

Here you go:

C:\>set classpath
CLASSPATH=C:\Program Files\Sybase\Jaguar CTS 3.0\html\classes;C:\Program
Files\S
ybase\Shared\Sun\jdk117\lib\classes.zip;C:\Program
Files\Sybase\Shared\PowerBuil
der\classes.zip;

I copied all the n_jaguarhello class files into:
C:\Program Files\Sybase\Jaguar CTS 3.0\html\classes
for the test.

Thanks again,

Ray
