Sybase is such a joke. They have me playing thie ridiculous game of upgrade
madness...promising me to get the damn thing to me for about over a month
now. They told me they would have a tracking number for me for the
shipment....like a few weeks ago. I finally got a call from them today
telling me that they are on back-order! Huh?!?!?!? Plus I had to convince
them that I deserved to get 3.5. Apparently they have this completely
idiotic deadline on USP renewals. I happened to fall on the other end of it
and they basically said "sorry you'll have to wait until the next release
which we don't know when". If I wanted the current version I had to pay an
extra $300 in addition to my USP upgrade fee. I went through the same kind
of mayhem when upgrading the ASE licenses with all that Java option trickery
they have.

My experience with Sybase have been so negative in the past year or so that
even though I like their products I am starting to look for other
alternatives like MS or Oracle. Shame...

Nick,

If you could tell us who you have been interacting with, we should be
able to help. Is it tech support case (and number), telesales, Customer
Service....

As far as ASE 12.0, java, HA and I believe DTM services require an
additional license fee. If you have questions as to why, I can have
someone contact you to explain.

Regards,
Lance
