Reposting this as my initial post recieved no responses:

I have recently upgraded from 3.0x to 3.5 EAS. I can start my Jag server,
but my Jag Manager gets the following exception, and then behaves
erratically to the point where it will show no objects after (successfully?)
logging into the jag server.

Coworkers machine does the same thing.

The exception listing follows. Any ideas? I've opened an issue on this,
but no solution so far.

TIA,

Bill Pfeiffer

Scott,

I've included two sets of output below. The first is when I run the
Jagmanager icon as installed. You can see that it is picking up my jdk
1.2.2 installation.

The second set of output is the result of me adding a JAVA_HOME env var to
the jagmanager batch file to point at the Sybase installed Sun jdk 1.1.8.
It gets the exception I described in my original post. I can perform what
appears to be a login, but the objects in the Jag manager treeview do not
populate and the exception results.

Both sets of output include the path and classpath as well as the resultant
exceptions.

Thanks for taking the time to look at this.

Bill Pfeiffer

Bill,

It looks like you may be picking up the JDK 117 first instead of the 118.
can we ellimate some things. please get the path and classpath down to the
sybase stuff only and then start adding items back in.

I isolated the running of Jagmanager so that ONLY jagmanagers necessary
DLL's, Classes, Jars, etc were in the environments. Also added JAVA_HOME
and JRE_LATEST env vars to point at Sybase's (Sun's) JDK 1.1.8. This Solved
the problem.

Also found out that Oracle 8.1.5 client will not work with Jag 3.5. I had
to drop back to 8.0.5. I've included my startup output to show what
actually worked.

Thanks for your help.

Bill, we are experiencing exactly the same problem on a machine that we have
installed the 3.5 production version on. We are able to get JagManager to work
remotely, but not locally on the server itself. It appears to login, but there
are no objects in the Treeview.

If you happen to find a solution to this, I would be most interested. We just
pretty much gave up on it for now due to time constraints, but it will be an
issue again in the future.
