We have been asked to have buttons on each row of an HTML Datawindow which
then perform certain actions.

We are having great difficulty in programming these buttons in JavaScript.
Is there any way to handle these click events?

What type of action?

It might help to use a simple approach. Place small images (toolbar like
icons) in the detail band and create an hyperlink for each image, example a
delete image, hyperlinks delete.asp?key=102 "database column".

Now you can place a row of images (icons) that do specific tasks.

Dave,

To do this you need to declare a client side function to handle the event.  The function name must be in the following format:

    {control name}_Clicked(row, objname)

{control name} is htmlDW by default.  You then code it a similar way to a pb clicked event.  Here is an example:

<SCRIPT language=JavaScript>function dwResults_Clicked(row, objname)
{
  if (objname == 'b_select') {
    some processing...
  }
}</SCRIPT>

Hope this helps.

Don't forget to define the buttons as user defined.  There's an article on the link below that defines in detail how to implement client-side events.
