I've implemented server side server classes as outlined in Larry's sdn article.
How can I do this with a Jaguar component as the server? I would
like to take the same approach to centralize business logic. I'm also trying
to maximize reuse. What runs in a distributed architecture today, needs to
run in a web architecture tomorrow.

I understand that I cannot pass the datastore to a component. If I use a
resultset, I don't get state information. Should I use getfullstate() to pass
a blob to my server? I realize this requires modification to the
HTML Generator, or a custom replacement.

What about dynamic event intercomponent calls? Do they fail silently with a
NULL return code, if not implemented in the server? Is a better approach to
put placeholder events in an ancestor that returns 0?

Thanks in advance.

I would definitely use a customized HTMLGenerator component. Start with
what Sybase provides in the pbdwrmt.pbl, see what they are doing, and then
add your functionality.

Since it's PB code, you have error handling, event trapping, etc.
