Hi, all

Thank you very mush for your help. And I need one more program. Jaguar very
unstable, in may run OK ( I mean my application ) or may not.

I am getting this message, when I try to call remote function for transactional
component to retrieve data for DDDW. The component stateless, can be pooled:

Feb 29 08:14:48 2000: AFLIB Message: 18209/11/0: Transaction::Commit():
Transaction was marked ABORTONLY - Aborting!

Feb 29 08:14:48 2000: SystemException: TRANSACTION_ROLLEDBACK
(client_contract/n_bo_client_contract/of_dbmsconnect - @127.0.0.1)
0.0.1)

Thank you,
Vladimir Uzlaner

Is this is shared component? If so then it is expected. If not, then it
looks like a disconnect is being done prematurely.

Hi, Larry

Actually I found where the problem, but I don't know why it is happening.
I call of_DBMSConnect( string as_dbms, string as_dbparm ) function from the
activate event of stateless, can-be-pooled component, parameters I take from
.ini file( actually I put this code in the ancestor object of this component).
It maybe looks funny, but when I call another remote function, let say
of_do_something( as_user_id, as_depot_id ), these two arguments passing to the
of_DBMSConnect() function (?!) and in the errlog I can see that DMBS = <user_id>
is not install etc. After that, I get ABORTONLY message. I just hardcoded dbms
and dbparm arguments in th of_DBMSConnection() function and now it's working,
but I lost flexibility taking parameters from the .ini file.

I have noticed that using ancestor for components is unstable. And unclear how
internally it is work. According to the SurfVideo example I don't include
n_bo_ancestor component to the deployment project( Mike Barlotta says I need to
include the ancestor to deployment if I reference directly the ancestor object,
but I don't). But I create the proxy of ancestor object. What's happening in
this case? Ancestor part will attached to every descendant during deployment to
the Jaguar? Sometimes code in activate, deactivate events of n_bo_ancestor is
fired, sometimes is not, as I can see from the SRVLOG. If I put breakpoints to
these events of the ancestor, I never stop there in remote debugging.

If anybody has clear picture what's going on, please, let me know.

Thank you,
Vladimir Uzlaner

hi, we have the similar case:
we called a stateful component in jaguar, then we disconnected without
setcomplete/setabort
and when we connected to jaguar again and called the same component, we also
got this error message.
that means we can never use this component again unless we restart the
jaguar.
how can we deal with this case?
you know we cannot assure that the client will complete its work without
accident.

Thank you.

p.s. that component creates an other shared component instance in its
activate event.
and we now use EAS 3.0, we will buy EAS 3.5 this week, but i consider that
the technical support of
Sybase Inc. (China) is bad. :(
