I am using EAStudio 3.01 with Powersite server and client object models and
PowerDynamo -
If I have a component ->method in Jag that gets accessed from the MSAP DTC in
server script in Powersite - can Jaguar produce a resulting .srd file that
contains the resulting datawindow script on the server machine and can I then
have Powersite use that .srd file to produce the HTML datawindow in another
server side script for the resulting web page? I need the initial datawindow
to get modified before sending to the web page and I am not sure how to go
about it but I do know I want Jaguar to create the datawindow syntax, if
possible.

Any suggestions on how to do this would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks
Marc

You can specify a .srd file to the HTMLGenerator component, I've seen it in
the code. However, I don't know if PowerSite allows you that flexibility.
I think if you wrote the server-side script yourself it would be more
flexible. Also is this a potential place for a customized component?

Larry -
Thank you for your response. Any examples, of course, would be greatly
appreciated. I am trying to figure out how to have Jaguar create datawindow
syntax using the SyntaxfromSql() function. Since I have not seen any
information on doing this and creating HTMLdw's from it, I am not sure it can
be done.

Thanks for your help.
Marc

While I have not done it I'm sure it can be done, just not with the
HTMLGenerator component. You'll have to do it yourself. I just put my
latest article on how to build a web dw component on the SDN, perhaps the
next one I can show how to do SyntaxfromSQL? What do you think?

Sorry, back to the subject at hand. I have functionality in our webdw
component to handle external datawidnows, and result sets to create
datawindows. That's why I'm certain SyntaxfromSQL will work. What are your
concerns about doing that, how to get the syntax to send?

Larry -

I would REALLY like to see how to build a web dw component from SyntaxfromSQL
since we use that function alot in our current PB app. I will look for your
latest article on the SDN and see if that helps. I am not sure how to handle
the result set and would like to get an example of creating the web dw from the
result set.

Thanks for your help!
Marc
